Why does a fridge need special disposal?
Fridges and freezers contain refrigerant gas (usually R134a or R600a). If it escapes into the atmosphere it's harmful — there's heavy regulation around it. I dispose of them at a licensed WEEE facility that degasses them properly, which is why I need to talk to you first.
Is there an extra charge for a fridge compared to regular waste?
Yes — there's a small surcharge on top of a standard collection price because of the WEEE disposal fee I pay at the facility. I'll give you the full price on the call, no hidden extras.
Do you take wine coolers and portable air conditioning units?
Yes — both contain refrigerant and are treated the same as fridges and freezers. Same process: call or WhatsApp first so I can quote you correctly.
